Mature Applicants
Mature Students – Application Process
At ICHAS we are aware that the decision to return to education after a number of years is a significant one. You need to be confident about your choice of programme and the support available to you.
If you are 23 years of age or over on January 1st of the year of entry, then you are considered to be a mature student. Mature students should apply directly to ICHAS using the appropriate application form. Potential students will be assessed on the basis of application, previous experience and general educational standard.
Admission to programmes will require applicants to complete an interview before they are offered a place.
ICHAS supports mature students in a number of ways such as through our student portal which contains information on writing your first essay and academic referencing.
We also deliver many modules through blended learning, a collaborative approach where students are supported through online discussion forums and self-directed learning.
Please consult the relevant programme pages for specific application and admission criteria regarding the programmes you are interested in.
We also host online information evenings on a regular basis. These events (run on Zoom) let you chat with lecturers and members of the faculty about the range of postgraduate, undergraduate, and certificate courses we have on offer.
They are a great way to find out more about studying with ICHAS and to explore our range of study options available such as Full-time and Part-time study options available in Limerick and Dublin on a blended basis, allowing you to log in to live lectures from home.
