Dr Muluken Basa is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Public Health & Epidemiology at RCSI. Muluken is a dedicated healthcare professional, educator and researcher, with a strong background in public health, emergency medicine and community health. He holds a PhD in healthcare innovation and integration from Trinity College Dublin. With extensive experience in nursing, research and statistical training, Muluken’s work focuses on improving noncommunicable disease care, developing culturally adaptive care models, and exploring the integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare delivery and statistical education.

He has received several prestigious awards, including the Ireland Fellows Programme by Irish Aid and the 1252 PhD Scholarship from TCD. His research interests include sustainable healthcare systems, the impact of pandemics, behavioural health and evidence-based policy development. Passionate about global health equity, Muluken works at the intersection of research, practice and innovation to empower communities and improve health outcomes.
