Profile

Margie has been lecturing with ICHAS on the BA Programmes in Counselling and Psychotherapy and with Griffith College on a module in Self care in an occupational Context as part of a  Level 9 Post Grad. Diploma for the past few years. Margie is passionate about sharing her knowledge and in helping students develop the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence they need to be effective in their roles as counsellors.

In addition to having an MA in Counselling & Psychotherapy (1st Class Honours), Margie also holds an MBS with Honours in HR Strategies.  She also has a B.Bus (Management).

 

Before becoming a counselling psychotherapist and running her own busy practice, Margie spent years in the aviation sector at Director level, focusing on pilot selection and pilot wellbeing, co-developing a pilot-specific psychological assessment used extensively in 24 countries.  She is recognised as a ‘thought leader’ in aviation and is the author of a book written to help potential pilots avoid pitfalls.  She won several awards for business excellence, including the 2018 All Stars Business Best Micro Business in Ireland.

Margie completed other qualifications in complementary therapies, including certified health coaching, certified master hypnotherapist, NLP, coaching and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy.
