Leaving Certificate Applicants
PLEASE NOTE – As our Full-Time Undergraduate Degree Programmes are NOT listed in the CAO Handbook, all applicants who have successfully completed the Leaving Certificate, are required to apply directly to the college for a place. Please note the information, on each programme page, in relation to minimum entry requirements.
QQI FET / FETAC Requirements
As our Full-Time Undergraduate Degree Programmes are NOT listed in the CAO Handbook, applicants, who have completed a Level 5 or 6 QQI Award, may apply directly to the college. The following minimum entry requirements apply for such applications:
- For entry to an Honours Degree programme (Level 8), the applicant must hold a QQI Level 5 Certificate with a distinction grade in at least three modules.
- For entry to an Ordinary Degree programme (Level 7), the applicant must hold a QQI Level 5 award
BA (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy
This new Honours BA programme is an exciting and innovative programme. Studied over four years it is designed to support students wishing to study towards becoming professional practitioners in Counselling related areas of practice.

BA (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy with Addiction Studies
This course has been designed for individuals who wish to become competent professional practitioners in counselling-related fields with a specific focus on addiction studies. Studied over four years the syllabus covers a diverse combination of theory and competence development. It centers on areas such as understanding mental health, the theoretical evolution of addiction, substance and non-substance addictions, addiction intervention and recovery approaches.

BA (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy with Youth Studies
This Level 8 programme studied over four years is an exciting and innovative programme, designed to support students wishing to study towards becoming professional practitioners in Counselling related areas of practice and specifically in Youth based settings. Completion of the programme leads to an academic award at Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications awarded by QQI.
