School Leavers & CAO Applicants: Undergraduate Degree Programmes (Full-Time)
With the exception of applicants holding a FETAC level 5 major award, prospective students under the age of 23, on the year of entry, who wish to apply for entry onto our full-time undergraduate programmes should make their application through the CAO system using the codes below.

Deferrals
For information on deferring your place please visit www.cao.ie/handbook
CAO Students applying to ICHAS should make note of the following important CAO deadline dates:
- 1st Feb (5.15pm) – Normal closing date for applications.
- 5th Feb (12:00) – Online facility to amend course choices becomes available (€10 Fee)
- 1st March (17:15) – Closing date for amending course choices
- 1st May (5.15pm) – Closing date for late applications
- 5th May (12.00pm) – Online Change of Mind facility becomes available (Free)
- Before End of May – Statement of Application Record sent to all applicants
- 1st July (5:15pm) – Change of Mind closes
- Mid-August – Current year Leaving Certificate results issued
- 20th August – Round 1 offers available from 06:00 online – also issued by post, e-mail and SMS text.
Applicants who have not received an offer will receive a Statement of Application Record - 24th August – Round 1 Acceptances closing date (17:15)
- 29th August – Round 2 offers available from 10:00 online
If an applicant is offered a place on a course through CAO, it is possible to defer entry for one year but only in accordance with the procedure outlined in the CAO Handbook. Non-CAO applicants can only defer at the discretion of the Institute. Please contact the College on 061 216288 for more information.
Holders of FETAC Level 5 Awards
Holders of FETAC Level 5 Major Awards can apply through the CAO or directly through the college. The following minimum entry requirements apply for such applications:
– For entry to an Honours Degree programme (Level 8), the applicant must hold a FETAC Level 5 Certificate with a distinction grade in at least three modules.
– For entry to an Ordinary Degree programme (Level 7), the applicant must hold a FETAC Level 5 award
(Please note: a full award normally contains eight modules, and the award may be accumulated over more than one academic year)
