ICHAS are delighted to once again be working with the Irish Foster Care Association in Tallaght Dublin on the delivery of the 10 credit module in Counselling & Psychotherapeutic Skills and Practices.
About the Certificate in Counselling & Psychotherapeutic Skills & Practice
This Certificate has been specifically designed for anyone wanting to develop key foundation-level counselling skills. It is an ideal introduction to the world of counselling and psychotherapy as it offers participants the opportunity to explore the key areas of this growing profession in Ireland.
This cert teaches general counselling skills and will benefit people in both their personal and professional lives. It is a 10 ECTS module from the BA Programmes in Counselling/Youth/Addiction.
It runs for 10 weeks and the subjects covered are designed to be both practical and theoretical leading with the goal of creating a broad understanding of counselling as a profession.
About the Irish Foster Care Association
The IFCA is the representative body for foster care in Ireland. Their goal is to promote excellence in foster care for all those involved.
Based in Tallaght Dublin they provide a range of services including:
- Information and Guidance
- High-quality support services
- Learning and Development through a range of learning activities available through IFCA branches and their national office
- A telephone helpline from the IFCA office in Tallaght which provides practical information and advice regarding any aspect of fostering
They are currently organising the Fostering Fortnight Event. The aim is to bring awareness to fostering in Ireland and all the valuable work being carried out every day in fostering families and fostering communities. There will be events taking place from March 2nd to 15th.
